I replaced the stator on my bike the other night and noticed I have a billet aluminum stator plate with advancing marks.  What does this do?

I do not have a ton of mods because i wanted to keep the bike woods friends for trail riding.

fmf fatty exhaust

stock carbs jetted spot on it seems @ 30pilot 280 Main

mull engineering milled and redomed head.

boysen power reeds

preodesign foam air filter

eha air bod lid

12T front and 41T rear sporket

I climb some hills and run trails.  Not looking for more HP.  Bike is fun where is is right now.

I get that but what does it do?  Moving my timing up but in non electrical terms?  Does it give more power at the sparks blast? Why +4, why not +2 or +10 or -6?

I just do not know enought about this to understand it.  Never has a bike what was able to adjust it.
