Nbert1197 Posted April 18, 2016 Report Share Posted April 18, 2016 I was wondering if I could run yfz450r shocks on Alba Racing long travel a-arms. The yfz450r front Shock is 18 1/4". I contemplated this and when I read into it and asked around I was told, I might as ask use my money as kindling to start my barn fire! tfaith08 Posted April 18, 2016 Report Share Posted April 18, 2016 Yeah, it'll probably be soft, but the alba arms with the brackets are designed to be used with 17.5" shocks or 14.5" standard length. YFZ are 15.5" iirc. The leverage ratios are different and your ride quality will be piss poor. It'll be wider and ride about like it does with the factory suspension. Do it right or don't do it.You'll think it's fine until you ride around people that are really fast and you get left behind because your suspension won't allow you to keep up.
