barry1me Posted April 4, 2016 Report Posted April 4, 2016 Guys Im looking to order some inframe CPI pipes and was wondering if anyone has put the black ones on. I would like to see what they look like and how they are holding up. Quote
Screamin'Sheela Posted April 5, 2016 Report Posted April 5, 2016 So you want to see a black pipe, huh? Quote

sleeper06 Posted April 5, 2016 Report Posted April 5, 2016 They look ok but unless it's a hand coned pipe it's always gonna be chrome for me . Let's face it they flat out look better and the biggest part is when you go to sell them resale is much higher and won't hurt the pocket when upgrading pipes or changing set up Quote

I see they offer the poor mans version, and then the small bore in black...not sure what the difference is. Quote

The regular black ones have aluminium silencers, but steel pipes. (I believe) Edited April 5, 2016 by tdod101 Quote
Dunatic619 Posted April 6, 2016 Report Posted April 6, 2016 Doesn't matter the finish, a persons who knows banshees will see the pipes and know they're cpi. The sleeper look is a stock cylinder, stroked and ported engine. Quote

tdod101 Posted April 6, 2016 Report Posted April 6, 2016 If I recall, you can't repack the poor man silencers. You can, it just comes riveted. Quote
Yamaha21 Posted April 7, 2016 Report Posted April 7, 2016 They fit great, perform just like the chrome ones with aluminum silencers, and look good imo. I will say the black finish is crap, it has rubbed off in a couple places after one trip and I spilled a small drop of gas on one side and it took the finish off right down to bare metal. They say they're powder coated black but it almost seems like they're rattle canned with thermal paint. I ordered them from FAST, quick shipping, best price around, call em up. White1996 Posted June 29, 2016 Report Posted June 29, 2016 Are these the "poor mans" or the bare metal? Quote
Yamaha21 Posted June 29, 2016 Report Posted June 29, 2016 The pictures I posted above are the poor man's version. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk Quote
