dirtydownunder Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 short rod long rod, have the same stroke, but the pin height has been moved in the piston, short rod is 5 mm shorter but the piston pin is also 5 mm lower. so the piston is going to be in the same place as long rod, just pivot lower into the piston. just go long rod setup. The added stroke with short rod put unneeded stress on the piston skirt . Don't say I didn't worn you Quote

Get a brand new hot rods long crank, get a good supporting vendor to port it, and ride it. Quote

RagunCajun Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 there's no sleeper about it. It's just the crank. It's not like you are shoving a bigger than 10mil crank in stock jugs and cases. No one is really gonna care if you have a long or short rod. Just go with the most reliable bottom end. Quote
