Weird exhaust

Hi I'm looking into trading a used car I have that I don't use anymore for a 1990s yamaha banshee, I'm just curious of 1 thing the pipes are on the sides (where your legs would be) sticking down he says thats how it is from the factory but I've never seen one like this, let me know what you think. Thanks for the help when you say "walk away" are you talking about the deal or these forums? I am not new to riding just quads in general I ride a rm 250 2s and love the feeling of 2 strokes just trying to learn.
