sandbuzzard Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 I have changed clutch perch, lever, cable w/lube, and clutch kit (dirt diggers). This thing gets to be a monster to pull. I cant take the stiffness out ot it. My next step is a new basket. It is a 92 and still has the stock basket in it. Do you guys think this could be the issue? Thanks Quote
BitchenBanshee Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 there are 3 things that effect clutch pull and the basket has nothing to do with it. 1. springs. There could be some aftermarket ones installed 2. Bad cable routing / damaged cable / unlubed cable 3. Clutch perch. a MSR EZ-Pull type will be much easier to pull than a stock type! Good luck! Quote
tithead Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 if its still hard to pull after what the guy above said take it apart and soke it in wd40 and clean it up. Quote
Dragg-on Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 DUDE..... get a new cable, I did it and WOW! only 12$ Quote
Wassup350 Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 one thing if you put a new clutch in, i would have every other clutch spring be stock. Then every other one an aftermarket spring. I have an MSR raptor clutch lever with a motion pro terminator cable and a white bros ez-pull. This set up makes for an extremely easy clutch pull. I could barely feel it. The problem now i have is that my ezpulls cable is frayed and i dont know where to find a new one. Also i would get a cable luber, rather then just spraying WD-40 down the cable in hopes that it gets through. A cable luber will push the lube through the cable very nicely. Quote
