Gunner18 Posted October 5, 2015 Report Posted October 5, 2015 I need so experts help. This last Friday I bought a 1990 banshee that had sat for quite awhile and wasn't in that good a shape but it ran. It blows think smoke out the left pipe and also leaks oil from it to. I'm pretty sure he left the old gas in it but he put some fresh stuff in before I bought it. The left carb over flow has leaked gas everywhere. I pulled it apart and not sure what I should do. Do I need new rings on the left side or is it just the carbs and everything needs to be cleaned out. Also my choke didn't have a spring around it when I pulled it out but it didn't seem to affect it when I was starting the bike. The bike would either start first kick or take quite a few kicks. Any suggestion before I buy new rings. Should I just clean the carbs and out them back in or buy rebuild kits for them. I wanted to have the bike at the dunes by this weekend. Quote
Gunner18 Posted October 5, 2015 Author Report Posted October 5, 2015 Where can I buy a compression tester and what's good compression? I have the carbs pulled off and the tank is also off and drained. I'd like to learn how to do all of this so I don't fork out money to some else who can do it all in 30 min. Quote
