dogboystoy Posted November 30, 2003 Report Posted November 30, 2003 Ninja Master: that is the craziest way to lock up a banshee that I have ever heard. If I had to go through all of that to ride my banshee, it would be dark by the time I got it unlocked. Id rather spend 120$ a year for insurance and have some piece of mind. I do have my shee locked up in a 12X12 shed with a crappy lock. No one has tried to steal her yet. It sounds like you would be better off disassembling your banshee each time you are done riding, and box each part up and hide them all around your garage. Then, when you go to ride you can plan it out a week ahead of time and start assembling her before the big ride,,,, just hope it doesnt rain when that day comes. Quote
ninjamaster Posted November 30, 2003 Report Posted November 30, 2003 Hey bud, How did you get the pic at the bottom by your signiture? I would like to put a pic of my shee by my signiture. A friend of mine had 2 raptors stolen. 1 had insurance. He had to go threw all kinds of BS to get them to pay then they did not pay him for his mods. Could you help me maybe put a slide show of pics of my shee? L8R Quote
STLBILL Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 Hi guys: I use insurance mostly because the bank requires it. It also sits on a trailer with a tonque lock in a closed garage attached to my house. I suggest disassembling it and shipping each piece to yourself. Use the shipping priority appropriate for when you want to ride next minus the time it takes to put it back together. Be sure and get insurance on your shipping... Regards, Bill Quote
boonman Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 I like the shipping idea. It makes the most sense. That way, you would have to have the tracking numbers, and collect all the packages if you wanted to steal it, or, just hijack the UPS truck every day for a week. Quote
ninjamaster Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 The baby monitor is a good idea. How far of a range are they good for? My bedroom is about 75 yards from the garage. Its an open area though. Quote
ninjamaster Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 The bigest hand gun I have is a BFR bigest finest revolver single action chambed for a .450 marlin (rifle carterage) I also have a .480 ruger, .475 line baugh (dont have a 500 smith...... YET) I have a desert eagle .50 ae that is for sale presently but it is a piece of Sh!t you have to constantly oil it, its not reliable but I shoot pins with it some times. Its blued I should have gotten the gold finish, ppl buy it for intimidation I would rather have a 12 guage pump. 12 guage pump is reliable and intiminating. Biggest rifle I have is Barette .50 bmg semi auto 10 round mag. I also have an older safari double rifle. More of a colector though I have a 10 guage shotgun as well thats a big shotgun. what else ........One gun that I wish I had but cant afford is a GE mini gun. A full auto .308 (about 300,000.00 USD) Quote
raxen Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 You've got the basics covered, now practice shooting for when the thieves come. Quote
IrideA250R Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 I want to copy you guys a post from Planetsand, put up by someone who sells insurance for a living... "Here is a tip from the insurance guy. Although you may think your custom quad is insured because you are paying a premium and you have a policy, you will not be happy with the settlement you will receive come claim time. Unless your policy is insuring the qaud for a stated agreed price, then the claim will be settled on a actual cash value basis. That means if your custom quad is a 1987 Banshee that is all done up with over $20000 in mods, you will get what a 1987 stock Banshee is worth, about $1000 if you are lucky. No matter what year your quad is you will only get ACV on the year of a stock vehicle. NONE of the custom mods will be covered because first you probably didn't tell the insurance company you had them and if you did they would cancel the policy because you now have a machine modified to go faster then it was intended which is specifically exluded on almost all standard vehicle insurance policies. You can find companies that will insure the quad for its actual value but the premium for such a policy would be in the neighborhood of $2500 a year. Because of this you are probably better off self insuring it because is four years your custom quad will pretty much be paid for by the premiums. Once you make your first modification to a quad (ie adding pipes or even just removing the airbox cover) you are making the quad unqualified for a policy because of the no modification rule. You may still be able to make a claim and get some money, but if the insurance company finds out you modified the vehicle and you didn't tell them, they will deny the claim saying they were misinformed and you will get zero! I sell insureance for a living and beleive me I have checked EVERYWHERE and when it comes to any form of modified quad, you might as well self insure because even if you do get a policy, you won't be happy come claim time and that is if they even pay the claim. If any agent is telling you differently, then you had better ask for a copy of the policy and see how claims are settled before you buy it. I would be glad to review ANY policy for anyone to show them the wording of the contract. With all of my searching, there is no policy that is affordable that covers what you want covered." that being said, heres my choice HOME DEFENSE!! Quote
ninjamaster Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 Hey man, That is what happened to my buddy. They stole his modified raptor. It had high compression pistons, exhaust, different suspesion, all kinds of billet replacements and a few other goodies. They gave him a hard time. They then only gave him what a stock quad was worth. He was pissed big time. Do you think the kriptonite is the best lock around? Quote
ninjamaster Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 So your a sigman, thats cool . I have the special edition sig .40 S&W with the gold stamp "operation iraque freedom" on it . The only problem is you cant really shoot at people that are stealing your stuf . I think the only place is in texas after a certin time. What is the best way to lock your quad up? By the way the guy that had his raptor stolen had it in a LOCKED shed chained to a beam. They cut the lock going into the shed and then the chaine. Quote
dogboystoy Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 Ninja: To get a pic at the bottom of your sig line,, you need to post your pic on a web site such as Sonyimagestation. You need to create a photot album, insert you picture, then get the web adress or link from it. Now you need to insert that link into you signature line. Now once you do that you have to put "{img}" in the beginning and end of the link. It is kind of confusing, but i bet someone else here can explain it better than I. Good luck Quote
1999banshee Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 [/b]I think the best way from getting your shee stolen is to just keep your mouth shut about were you keep it,dont tell alot of people hey i got a banshee and i keep it here, believe me not good, and get a very high insurance premium,i had mine stolen and luckly that was only stock,it was only 7 days after i had it,i was sp excited about it i told everyone and showed everyone that came over Quote
ninjamaster Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 dogboy, Thanks for the advice. I joined immagestation. Now do I save it to my computer then put it on immagestation and then here? Quote
IrideA250R Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 if they're in your house or garage, you can shoot them. Obviously if they're running down your driveway like the school bully is after them, you cant shoot them in the back. Not that I'd actually do it, but it would probably make most thieves poop their pants. Quote
