Elka shock setup question...

I am looking at a set of Elka shocks Stage 3 fronts and Rear shock. Seller says they are setup for +2+1 A-Arms and +1 in the rear. My bike has stock front Arms and +4 rear swingarm. They are already setup close to my weight. Is this going to work for me or would I need to change the shock setup. Any other opinions are welcome, thanks ahead of time.

They might not handle the best since the shock wont be in the same position they are valved for is what i would think but if they were standard travel it might not be to bad

If your coming from stock to those, you'll swear there great. The fronts are damn close. I bet a normal weekend warrior type rider won't notice.

The rear may be a little more noticeable.

I personally like the front a little stiffer.

I would say just send them to elka or a good shock builder and get them setup for your preference.

and why do you say that?

If they are set up for stock arms with the extra leverage of the +2s, the springs might not be able to hold up the valving. Therefore you might have to preload the shit out of them and lose all the plush travel in the shocks.

just buy them and make +2 arms your next upgrade

If the fronts are for +2's then you would be fine.  Just might be a little stiff until you upgrade your arms.  The rear is the one that might give you trouble.
