98_sheester Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 So i havent found what i want about the setup i have and what i might change to. So im running a 15-41 ratio with a 106 links now i do like it since its kinda long but in the wood i feel its a little harder to climb my steep hills starting at low speed and start pulling about half way up. What id like to try is a 13-43 i feel like it would give me the bottom end i need on a quick burst from stop to atleast pull the bottom of the hills. I know i might have to catch a gear but would this ratio help me and woukd i have to add or take links out? Im at 106 links now Quote
camp0429 Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 I ran 13 41 for a while, i couldn't imagine anything any lower. 13 43 would pull stumps. I liked the 13 for the most part but some times on a hill climb you'd be wound out pretty tight but need more speed and second gear wasnt really an option. I switched back to 14 41 and think thats the best of both worlds. May have to play the clutch a little more. I dont know the number of links, but i had to take 2 links out going from 14 41. Also i got a stock swinger and with takin 2 links out i had to modify the bottom bolt groove on swinger to allow carrier to move forward enough. Quote
98_sheester Posted May 12, 2015 Author Report Posted May 12, 2015 I have the stock swinger as well but i like i might like the stump puller it could climb good im sure Quote
