Kill switch stopped working (water related)

For a few months now I've been dealing with not having a functioning kill switch.  Last fall I was riding through some wet trails, came in too hot into a mud hole and ended up endo-ing to a dead stop in the water (launching me off lol).  Since then the kill switch does not work but the lights do.  I replaced the kill switch thinking I fried it from the handle bars being submerged in water, but that didn't fix it.  What do you guys think?
