new member ...my first banshee...need help

Hello i need help with my shee..its a 2001 banshee all stock with just twin k&n air filters with no box ....whats happening is that when my throttle is at 1/4 the bike engine hesitates to run, but ones i go 1/2 it pulls really hard and at full throttle goes fast but stops making power at high rpm. Does anyone having same issue ? Or what should i check ..thanks in advance guys

Sounds like a carb cleaning may be in order. Do you know the jetting specs inside your carbs?

 Of corse not, he just got it. Probably doesn't know it's important.

Didn't mention what pipes he has. If they are stock, might be why it signs off up top.

 

War, the bog at 1/4 could be dirty carb/plugged pilot, or air screw may need a tweek one way or other.

was probably never jetted for the K&N's. huge difference between stock and K&N's. about 3-4 jet sizes lol

pilot jet controls roughly idle to 1/4 throttle so that may need tweeking and main jet roughlt 3/4-full so sounds like your not jetted right for the k&n filter

this just happened to me, just bought a 98 with no airbox and k/n ran like how your explaining it. adjusted needle down 1 clip (richer) went to 240 main, pilot stayed the same, might try fiddling with the pilot but it runs night and day better
