gusto Posted December 10, 2014 Report Posted December 10, 2014 +2 +1 means two inches higher and .... So does it mean 1 inch out in front or towards the rider? I am thinking it's out from the rider. And what is the advantage of +1 out or in? Today I ordered my a arms and a plus 2 stem from fireball and wonder if I am missing something with the plus 1 bit Quote
willaduncan Posted December 10, 2014 Report Posted December 10, 2014 You sure it wasn't +2 +1 on the arms? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
gusto Posted December 10, 2014 Author Report Posted December 10, 2014 No +2+1. Ok I think I was right. It's +1 forward. So can someone tell me the advantage of +1 forward? Quote
Burke Posted December 10, 2014 Report Posted December 10, 2014 because the stem is at an angle, if you just go 2 inches longer it will bring the bars back toward you by default... this puts them back where they were originally (or close to it) in relation to forward and aft. Quote

Also its more comfortable for taller guys. I'm 6'3". Have a +2+1 stem. And risers. Feels right. Quote
