mcaf29 Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 Well, I read the directions to install my new basket, and I have to peen the screws? It says to use punch but what size punch. I have a ball peen hammer but no punch. So does that mean I should flatten the screw against the plate. Anyone who has done this please let me know. Also it says use new red locktite cause it has a shelf life. I have some that's 10 months old, I have good size botle so I hope its still good. How long is too long? Quote
boonman Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 Your locktite will be fine. And any punch would probably work. As long as it has a tempered point, and it is sharp. Quote
mcaf29 Posted November 21, 2003 Author Report Posted November 21, 2003 So I'm just gonna flatten the ends of the screws right? I'm gonna go to sears or HD to get a punch tonight. Any recommendations? Should I get one? Get a set? I love tools. Can't have too many tools. Just can't spend too much on them right now since I got all this work going on me banshee. Quote
boonman Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 I would get a small set. I have a set of starrett punches. I love starrett tools. (machine shop shit) For other tools, I have craftsman. The snap on truck doesn't stop at my house, and I don't make a living at it. And for the few tools that do happen to break, I don't mind dending the wife to sears for a new one.... Craftsman punches are big. Quote
