I'm at a complete loss! I have a 4mil serval with 35pwk air strikers and R2 pipes. It's been running like a raped ape and all the sudden it's cutting out on the top end. Pretty much in a drag race condition, it pulls awesome off the line and about 150-200ft out hitting right around 3rd gear it starts breaking up and cutting out. Thought it might have been lean but the plug are showing that it's rich. Timing is at +4 and shows good on the plugs. Compression is 175lbs in both cylinders. Put a new coil, wires and caps on it and same thing is happening. I was thinking cdi but everything I know about them is either there good or there not. No inbetween. Like I said I'm at a loss. It's feels great down low. Also jetting is at 158- 50 and about 500ft above sea level. Please let me know what you think it is and thank you in advance.

Yeah this is the stock stator. Would checking ohms still tell me if its good even thought it's only happening on the top end.

I'll give it a try tomorrow. Is there a possibility it could be the cdi or was I right when saying it's either good or it isn't.

Also could this be a reeds issue? I have vf2. I took them out to check them and they aren't cracked or chipped or anything but felt a little loose like there wasn't as much spring to them. So I flipped them over and they tightened up but still same problem.

Took the petcock out and everything was clear. Pulled the screens and blew air thru the petccock to make sure there were no blockages. Checked the cap and same thing and clear on that. Try it out and still doing the same thing. Just so I can 100% rule out the cdi, can I take and cut my plug off and slice it onto a different year cdi with no problems?
