Hey I read around on here that you shorten swingarms. Do you still do this and if so what's the going rate? I use my shee for trails and dunes mostly with an emphasis on jumping the hell out of it. I'm planning on doing the J to A arm conversion and getting some +2,+1 arms after tax return time. So should I think about shortening my swingarm now or wait until after I've got the extended A-arms? I was thinking -2 max, maybe -1 or -1.5. My goal is to make it a little more manueverable and give it a tad better control while airborne as well. Upcoming engine mods are probably going to be limited to: adjustable timing plate, noss 21cc head, and maybe some new low-end pipes since mine are f'ugly.

Yep, $100 plus shipping.

I suggest doing this whenever you have about 2-3 weeks that you don't plan to ride. I turn these around as fast as I can, but since it takes about 6+ full hours, it usually takes me 3-5 days to fit it into my schedule. Plus another 3-5 days shipping each way. I don't think that you need the new A-arms before you shorten the swingarm. I still run the stock arms, and probably will for another year. I'd suggest going the full 2". I cut mine down 1.5" and a friend's 1", and we both wish we had gone -2". We are all afraid that it will make it ride around on the back tires all of the time. But this just isn't the case. A stock 300EX or piped Z400 are way more wheelly prone than a banshee with a shortened swingarm. But keep in mind that I have never had paddle tires on my Banshee and I have never been to the dunes, so I cannot provide any advise for that type of riding.
