Jgspahn Posted August 10, 2014 Report Posted August 10, 2014 I'm thinking about having some of this done. Im just not sure about the durability. Anybody have some of this stuff? How does it hold up? Pics? Also, what about gas. If I have my tank shroud done, will a lil gas ruin it? Quote
fappy'97 Posted August 10, 2014 Report Posted August 10, 2014 Automotive clear coat is painted over the dip. Quote
Jgspahn Posted August 10, 2014 Author Report Posted August 10, 2014 Meaning it's pretty durable, correct? Like from scuffs from getting off and on, etc. Quote
87sheerips Posted August 10, 2014 Report Posted August 10, 2014 They will scuff, in an environment such as a stator cover where you see boot rub. Other than that, very durable. It is primer, paint, dip, clear. Quote

Your stuff does look good JD! Quote

Jgspahn Posted August 12, 2014 Author Report Posted August 12, 2014 If imma spend the money id rather do it with a site sponsor. I'll save up eventually. Quote
Jgspahn Posted August 26, 2014 Author Report Posted August 26, 2014 Sooo the bottom coat, ir the base coat or whatever.. can you just get your plastics done in that stuff and then clear coated.. or is that a stupid idea.. I really only want the piece of plastic the grill in it to have the patterns, but I want my plastics to look new and shiny.. is this doable with aquafuse and/or is there a better route to take?? Nightmare Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 Turbo chassis is a site sponsor. Sent from my KFSOWI using Tapatalk Quote
muggzy Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 For what you're talking about spending, why don't you just get new plastics? If you like the original design, Maier is pretty good and there are plenty of others with their own spin on Banshee designs. Dip the piece you have and want dipped and get all shiny and new for the rest. Probably cost you less. Quote
muggzy Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 Might wanna look at this restoration video too... Quote
Jgspahn Posted August 27, 2014 Author Report Posted August 27, 2014 Might wanna look at this restoration video too... I did watch that video a lil while back.. I already painted my plastics with krylon fusion, so that adds sooo much elbow grease into the equation lol 1 Quote
Jgspahn Posted August 27, 2014 Author Report Posted August 27, 2014 Did a little bit of math a few minutes ago.. about 650 for maier plastics and one dipped part shipped.. 750 for all dipped parts plus shipping.. might be right about just getting new plastics.. dunno why that never crossed my mind Quote
