nastyracing Posted April 9, 2014 Report Posted April 9, 2014 After eating 6 sets of coushins every 3 months I figured out why every single dirt bike had spring loaded basket . Hammering threw whoops wot , tire speed in air and grabbing traction when back to ground eats coushins alive. Time to fix this issue permantly . I need a spring loaded basket. Anyone every shoot springs out them yet ? Anyone that has one? Quote
shanYE west Posted April 9, 2014 Report Posted April 9, 2014 just throwing this out there.. but the hinson cushions are junk.. They wear out in one weekend. Quote
nastyracing Posted April 9, 2014 Author Report Posted April 9, 2014 After tried different baskets been threw 2 hinsons , and now using a mattoon basket still been threw 4 sets of coushins in short period of time . Tried numerous peoples coushins . Mattoon being the best hard as hell to force in.... It's been less than 3 months baskets sloppy already. Quote
LaegerEliminator Posted April 9, 2014 Report Posted April 9, 2014 I have about 90-100 hrs on my Hinson Billetproof basket with straight cut gears and have had not issues with it so far. Most of my riding is mx type or aggressive duning. Quote
nastyracing Posted April 10, 2014 Author Report Posted April 10, 2014 Pull your clutch cover off I can garentee the basket has lots of play. Hinsons were the worst for me . Truely will have to get a video of the kind of abuse in whoops this bike gets. I would try a Hinson spring loaded if one popped up tho Quote

My wife's 63 HP bike has the full Hinson 8 plate (with cushions) My 100+ HP 10 mill cub has the 8 plate spring loaded Hinson system. There is NO PLAY in the spring basket. I had it off a week ago for some clutch work and gave it a full going over. Quote
LaegerEliminator Posted April 10, 2014 Report Posted April 10, 2014 I would guess that mine gets run about as hard as a guy can imagine with my setup and my style of riding, but I will give it an inspection when the time comes. Mine is a spring loaded with a Duncan 7 plate setup. They were not producing the 8 plates any more when I bought mine in 2008. I see on the Hinson site that they show them as currently being available. Quote
