You can still use stock shocks as long as you get standard travel a-arms. Ride height will not change much. If you go with long travel a-arms you will need to upgrade your shock at the same time because they require a longer shock. It makes tight trails a little more technically since you do sit a little wider but once you get used to it its not bad. I race XC with +2 a-arms and we have some pretty tight tracks. I like the extra stability of +2 for cornering harder and faster. I would look into shocks as soon as you can tho because that is a big weakness in the suspension department. Quote
