JCSO605 Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 I have kicked my bike until I have meat missing on my foot. I got it cranked got it to idle by adjusting the idle screws. Made a few passes and got it to about 170 degrees. I killed it to check plugs. Now I can't get it to start. It's a ten mil cub on alky. 178 psi 39.5 mikuni carbs billet bowls 116 tube drill 60 pilot. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Quote
sprinklerman Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 Outside temp? Timing? Sent from a van down by the river Quote
JCSO605 Posted March 2, 2014 Author Report Posted March 2, 2014 80 out. Timing at +10 set by builder Quote
JCSO605 Posted March 2, 2014 Author Report Posted March 2, 2014 It ran good once it warmed up but when I killed it couldn't get it to crank again. I put purge gas through it and I got it to crank and run at idle for a minute. Quote
J-Madd Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 Sounds lean on the pilot or air leak. I don't know mikunis so I don't know if that jet sounds right or not. Are you using the choke? Quote
JCSO605 Posted March 2, 2014 Author Report Posted March 2, 2014 Yes I used the choke I wondering if I need to adjust the air screws? Where should I start with them? Quote
sleeper06 Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 How old is your fuel , and might aswell pressure test motor, has it been sitting long Quote
JCSO605 Posted March 3, 2014 Author Report Posted March 3, 2014 fuel is brand new and yes motor has sat for several months. I also found a severe leak in the bowl of my right side carb where the power jet is tapped in. right side did not seem to be firing at all times when I had it running. Quote
JCSO605 Posted March 3, 2014 Author Report Posted March 3, 2014 Any one know where I can get the brass nipples for the power jets that go in the bowls of the carb or do I have to buy a whole new powerjet kit Quote
