Jdiding13 Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 Just picked up a very Nice 02 all stock aside from a boost bottle and fmf silencers that are beat up My plan is dmc 916 pipes milled stock head e-85 conversion on a single carb maybe a good trail port on stock jugs My question is since I'm not planning on a huge hp build what's the best setup carb wise for a single with e-85. I also may or may not run my spare snowmobile nitrous kit of it for the pesky kids around badlands with real fast stuff I mostly trail ride since I have 5 acres of woods at home with trails Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk Quote
sprinklerman Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 Nitrous, E85, single carb conversion ...ftw! Sent from a van down by the river Quote
Jdiding13 Posted February 26, 2014 Author Report Posted February 26, 2014 so i take it i have a good plan ? Quote
WINDYCITYJOHN400 Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 (edited) so i take it i have a good plan ? Well…..If you think the e85 is the way to go….it's your bike and that is a way to go…... But I wouldn't go that route. The DMC plan is good. Get any good all round pipe with spark arrestors like a DMC or FMF Fatty with TurboCore silencers. I'm one of the few here who speaks positively of the single carb choice….But ONLY the Graydon design. The Billet intakes are junk. With so few mods….your plan is all the typical bigger is better mentality. You can make over 70HP with stock carbs. You would be better just getting a good exhaust, keep the stock carbs, by some V-force 4 reeds, either by a cool head with higher compression domes or combine that with some mild porting or some Vito's Super Stock pistons for a 7+ HP boost. The Nitrous idea is just really not the way to go at all. (In my opinion, nitrous on Banshees is for a 90% drag bike.) THIS is the path I thing you should look closely at >>>>> http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=130851&page=1 Edited February 26, 2014 by WINDYCITYJOHN400 Quote
Jdiding13 Posted February 27, 2014 Author Report Posted February 27, 2014 yea the v force reeds were on the list as well, my thoughts were that being a single carb it will be easier to jet and keep on top of but if the stock carbs can make good power and run on e-85 well then i may stay with the stock carbs i want to run e-85 since i have it at 3 gas stations local to me i run it in my race car and my lawn mower lol, i usually keep a drum filled at the house and tested to be correct so i always have a good supply on time i usually keep a upper cylinder lube added to it as well. my overall goal is a strong trail quad thats holds its own when i go to the badlands and play around, my other quad is a kfx700 with minimal mods that as it stands basicaly make the banshee feel downright slow in the trails yes i know its a huge cc 4 stroke but even running along at about 50mph side by side the kfx walks away from the banshee i thought that the banshee would just hand it its ass in a long run. im sure the pipes and jetting and some other mods will help that in a big way, a timing plate was also on my list of things to do to take advantage of the e-85 Quote

A mild bolt-on Banshee can walk almost anything if you buy parts that work well together. That's why I posted that link to the Dyno section. That combo is VERY potent and has minimal money in it. I ride the Badlands too…….Where you at? Quote
Jdiding13 Posted February 27, 2014 Author Report Posted February 27, 2014 located in demotte indiana id make a great staging area for a group ride at my place since i have lots of parking and we could all meet up here on the way since im not far from attica im about 1.5 from attica north i am def looking for a well matched combo that ... and i know it clice.... does it all pretty well but stil has enuff pull to scare me and keep my attention once it becomes predicatble ill get bored and do a serval or swap my 180hp zr800 sled motor on it and make it a drag quad since i cant help but make everything i own drag oriented lol Quote
Jdiding13 Posted February 27, 2014 Author Report Posted February 27, 2014 id like to avoid having the quad come on like a lightswitch if i could i like the way the stock pipes apply power but thye also take all the fun out of it as well im not dead set on the 916 pipes if there is something else i need to look at im game the whole reason i bought a banshee at all wasa buddy years ago ad a ported , piped, single carb stock cc banshee that was a blast to ride had a really nice wide powerband that came on low but would pull to huge rpm like an animal. thats what i was looking for in this build as well im really considering getting a set of stock jugs and sending them out to be done so i can do the pipes, jugs, head mod weather i do the milled stock head or the coolhead high compression setup, timing plate and carb work and just tune it and let it eat and see how i like it Quote

Give them a look. NOTE: The HQ date is set up for the April date instead of the May date. If the wether in April is crap…we'll just go back to the original May date. Here is a link to the date post. >>>> http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=172263&page=1 The build in that previous dyno link is a perfect stepping stone to going with a bigger more powerful setup. You really won't find more power for less money. Plus it allows you to save cash so making a leap to even more power will be affordable down the road. Quote
