southside Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 What kind of real difference can be seen in et and power with no other changes other than jetting/power jet changes can be seen between inframe drag pipes to out of frame on a given motor? Quote
southside Posted January 15, 2014 Author Report Posted January 15, 2014 No input on this subject? Quote
sprinklerman Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 Depends on how the motor is setup. Quote
southside Posted January 15, 2014 Author Report Posted January 15, 2014 We'll say on a drag ported motor on alcohol for example Quote
WINDYCITYJOHN400 Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 It's not a simple answer. The peak rpm changes between In-frames and OOF's. Depending on compression, dome design, port timings and even port angles will determine the power. There isn't a promise of more power with OOFpipes. Quote
sprinklerman Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 We'll say on a drag ported motor on alcohol for exampleThat's way too vague of information. Port angles and dome design plays a big part. Shearer has stated that himself on SS. Quote
fastkid Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 From shearer, 4-5hp gain going to oof vs inframe once you change dome spec and ex shape on a 392 cub. Quote
fastkid Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 You bet. What motor you running? He also said the same comparison was around 10hp on a 421. So it could be different for other size motors. Quote
