wayne_smith97
When testing my coils secondary circuit I was testing it with the black lead on the negative terminal and the red on the plug cap then removed cap and checked just wire to terminal. After that I removed the wire and tested terminal to prong that stabs into the plus wire and never got any secondary reading at all. According to the manual I tested it correctly. Can someone verify if Missed something??? I was getting random fire. It wouldn't fire every time I kicked it.
Starwriter
The Clymer manual is wrong. Check the primary by going spade terminal to spade terminal. Check the secondary by going plug wire to plug wire. The secondary should be about 5K ohms without the plug boots. The plug boots should be about 5K ohms each. However, coils that test bad with an ohm meter can still run great and coils that test good can still run bad.
wayne_smith97
I did check them boot to boot also then checked them wire to wire also. I did check the primary spade to spade and it came out to .4 ohms so I assume that's ok. It calls out .26 - .38. I think
