The last time I went I drove down the night before, rode the next day and drove back on that same day. Made for a long day but it worked. Might be possible to carpool. They don't check those. Besides I have never seen anyone get checked. John was checked once though. As long as you have spark arrestors you should be fine. I had T5's with very bad packing and I was never checked.
