Any solutions on a stuck silencer tip ( Toomey)

Trying to check packing in silencer , cannot get the tip off after removing the snap ring. It's glued on from old rich exhaust dried up like tar. Should I soak it in mineral spirits or something ?

Throw it in the freezer or snow bank over night. Will pop right off.

 

 

Or try some pipe butter.

that will work, or gas...anything that breaks down oil

I usually soak them in gas. It softens the burnt spooge to make cleaning easier.

Alright I'll give that a try to get the tips loosened up.
