Super Cub Head Problem

Just checking to see if anyone has run into this problem before. My domes will not drop all the way into the head . This is a brand new Chariot head and brand new domes from a reputable builder here. Also they are Noss domes which chariot specifies for there supercub head.

The pics with the pen show where the head is rubbing the domes. That edge in the head and the line on the domes both measure 1.82 inches.

Usually Noss does a step cut on the water jacket side of the dome. (Stair cuts the dome radius for more surface are and better cooling transfer.)

 

Looks like that stage got missed somehow............

I agree any other dome I have seen have steps or fins. But this is my first supercub so I was not sure if these domes were made this way intentionally or not.

Turn the domes so that the cuts In the edge of the domes line up with the holes for the studs..

 

With my noss head and super cub the domes had to go in a certain direction so the studs will go thru the head ..

Already did that . It is rubbing on the step inside the head

Are your domes stepped or domed on the water side

Mine are stepped.. The last two picture didn't show up at first for me and could just see in a couple of your picture the knoches weren't lined up. Sorry it was any help

It has been several years since my Super Cub domes were 'stepped'.  I don't know if that head was designed for the earlier style domes.

[Chariot Performance]

Right after we started making super cub heads the Noss dome style changed. We made an additional cut on the following heads to accommodate the no step design. The head in this thread is at least three years old and one of the first 10 made. Our heads now fit with all Noss supercub domes.
