Compression test

From the "bike is a batch to start" thread.

 

OK so I checked compression. It's shows 110 on both sides. I tested it twice. I also tested it on a friends bike, his bike starts fist or 2nd kick and he's also reads 110 on each side.

 

Is 110 still good? Why is mine hard to start when a friends has the same comp and his one is so easy.

 

What else can I check?

the tester could be -/+10 out too.  

 

what do ya spark plugs look like ? try new plugs.

 

when its running, does it run fine ?

 

check your coil and stator.

By checking resistances on the primary and secondary sides of the coil.

And checking the resistance of the ignition side of the stator.

Swap CDI's with ya bud, see if that helps.

To pull the coil cover off do I need to buy any special tools?

 

Ill trying swapping cdi's and yes I use the choke when cold starting.

have you changed your jetting for the pipes already?  if not then you have more than likely found your issue.  Aftermarket pipes allow the motor to breathe better so you need to increase the amount of fuel your carbs dish out.  INCLUDING your pilot jet, which is what aids in starting your bike.  Stock is a 25 pilot......try and jump it up to a 27.5

any chance you swapped carb bowls from side to side by mistake?  choke pick up tube is only in one carb if i recall on a stocker.  Been a while since i owned a stocker but check it out

Carb bowls aren't swapped, I'm sure of that and it already has a 27.5 pilot.

When I start mine I have to hold the choke out and it starts on first kick but if I don't hold the choke it doesn't start. I just need to buy a new one I think my choke is wore out
