I just bought a 2002. I have been reading the tricks & mods people have done and performed a few so far. TORS removal with twist throttle, Ordered a idle kit, switched the orange & black wire on the coil (why do they do this from the factory & how does it help by switching?) Next? I am thinking of reeds, timing plate & sending head out to be milled. I did a compression test it has 107psi in both cylinders. I think that is not to bad seeing i am at 5000ft.

Also, anybody know what brand pipes these are?  Thanks.

It has been mention to look at the orange & black wire going to the coil. If the orange is on the - & the black is on the + switch then. When you remove the TORS the bike will not idle anymore, so you have to install idle screws.

Maybe t3's? The expansion chamber doesn't look quite right though.

I've got an old set of t3's, if you don't have a good answer by tomorrow afternoon I'll see if I can dig them out and get a better look.

Did they not put t3 on the chamber like t5 or t6? And if they are, are they any good at all, or should I start looking for something different?

I have a set of t3s they do not have any markings on them.  we had them on a mild ported stock strke and they run well.
