atcandbanshees Posted July 12, 2013 Report Posted July 12, 2013 I recently bought a banshee and it came with a lot of spare parts in a box. I started looking at the cool head first it seems to be a trinity looking head has the IV on the top of it. But yet it's only a two piece head no removable domes or any spots for orings anywhere. How would u seal the head case bond? Then the cylinders are really weird they are resleeved and are 71 bore and 4mm stroke. The spacer plate is weld to the top of the cylinders then holes drilled in it to let the coolant through. Also they have welded up the outsides of the cylinders by the transfers and the rear outter cylinder base nuts the studs are longer on the cases also plus the nut location was raised up. The pistons and cylinders seem to be in usable shape but the 4mm crank had a bad bearing also it is bent when I spun it in the cases. Is it worth rebuilding the crank and messing with the topend u think? Quote
camatv Posted July 12, 2013 Report Posted July 12, 2013 old trinity setup. you might want to recheck that its a 4 mill and not a 10 mill? no pics of anything yea redo it and run it Quote
atcandbanshees Posted July 13, 2013 Author Report Posted July 13, 2013 I assembled it in a set of cases when I checked it with a 4mm crank and the domes aren't trenched and the pistons didn't come out of the cylinders like a 10mm should Quote
atcandbanshees Posted July 13, 2013 Author Report Posted July 13, 2013 Do you know how they sealed the head? Quote
camatv Posted July 15, 2013 Report Posted July 15, 2013 probably used high temp silicone.. its way old school back in the day stuff.. guess if its not in trenched cases not a 10 mill anyways. take some pics of it. they may have just been trying to fight head gasket/ sealing issues with it. that was a problem and possibly was done before the idear of replaceable domes and cut domes was thought up. hey that old left over stuff from the late 80's early 90's HAS to be floating around somewhere.. atcandbanshees Posted July 15, 2013 Author Report Posted July 15, 2013 The head did have rtv on it but do you think case bond would be better to seal for compression and coolant or the rtv? I'll take pics I can't upload them from my phone can u pm me your number and I'll send them to ya Quote

List it on ebay and move on. Quote
