dezrik Posted May 3, 2013 Report Posted May 3, 2013 I used interceptor (Oil Injection is the main use for this oil) but I don't like that it doesn't have a dye in it to change the color of the fuel, I think the Dominator does change the color and According to my Amsoil dealer its better (The dominator) because it better for mixing. J-Madd Posted May 3, 2013 Report Posted May 3, 2013 Odd that an oil made for injection has dye but premix doesn't. Quote
Slayar71 Posted May 3, 2013 Report Posted May 3, 2013 So after reading this thread I'm thinking of switching to Dominator. I've been running Interceptor for years and have been very happy with it. First top end rebuild was done just recently after 7 years and the cross hatching was still visible. On measure up of the cylinders no boring was needed only a light hone and some new standard size pistons. Would I still see this kind of longevity on Dominator? How would it go on the trails and cruising? Which is what I ride mostly. Or do you need to be into the throttle fairly hard a lot? After all, it is a race oil. I just want to make sure it would suit me needs. I also hear it smells nice. i rode my banshee in the mountains of colorado, yah there were places i could get on it. but there were also times were i really wasnt on it alot going up rocky parts ditches. etc. and my banshee ran like a champ. like i said previously dominator gets my vote. SpecialEd 05 Posted May 3, 2013 Report Posted May 3, 2013 Sweet, I think I'll switch over after this weekends riding. Only have one and a half quarts of Interceptor anyway. What I don't use will go in the yard tools which have been running castor for about 8 years! Quote
wfobasheeboy Posted May 3, 2013 Report Posted May 3, 2013 I am running the amsoil dominator @ 40:1 now for 2years now no problems. Quote
SonOfSand Posted May 3, 2013 Report Posted May 3, 2013 Odd that an oil made for injection has dye but premix doesn't. Dominator has a dye... its red. Quote
