New to banshees. And I have. Long road ahead.

Recommended Posts

Hey guys!

I bought my first banshee lAstnight. The previous owner put a Vito's 401 crank then I believe it was bored to a 409. Not sure exactly if that adds up right or not. But he never had it running right ever sense. It still has the tors on it. I have a eliminator kit on its way. I pulled the carbs and it has a 320main and a 30 pilot. It starts good but just has no power. And sounds like total hell. Please help point me in the right direction in troubleshooting this thing. My plan is to get it running correctly, then strip it down for a complete build from ground up. I am very good with 4 strokes just don't have the hang of the twin 2 strikers.

Thanks

Brandon

Unplug the 3 wire TORS box under the left front of the tank. That completely disables the TORS system. Start with a compression test and a leakdown test. If it's a 2002 or newer, make sure the green/yellow park brake switch wire is not connected to ground anywhere. With that jetting, I'm assuming your running pods at about sea level. If you're running stock airbox or are at something thousand feet elevation, you're too rich.

My bike is a 01 and I am running right around 450ft above sea level. I do have the stock air box with a k&n. I unplugged the tors box. One thing that has me worried is the wiring harness has been hacked on pretty good. Loose wires everywhere. Other than that I need to look into how to do a leak down test on these things. Any pointers. Or links
