4mm crank shaft with stock bore

So for a 4mil kit, would you stay with a stock rod or go for the long rod. What are the advantages and disadvantages?

Long rod. I had a short rod and I'm paying for it now. My cylinders were egg shaped after a season. I will say it was a long abusive season, but still only one. The long rods put less stress on the cylinders.

I have a short rod 421 that runs awesome. Did have some cracked skirts though. Not sure the short rod was the issue. I have mixed feelings about the short rod. There can be advantages in how it performs, but maybe longevity issues as mentioned.

Thanks for the advice, ill look into it more when im able to pick up another shee in a few months.
