I just bought an adjustable flywheel that goes up to +-10 degrees he told me to make sure I do a few things after instal this is what he told me "On a serious note: Make sure you set the pick up coil gap correctly. You may want to lap the flywheel too before you install it." I've never heard of lap the flywheel!? If any one can shed light on what and how I set the pickup coil gap and what and how I lap the flywheel I'd greatly appreciate it!! Tried searching the forum no luck with this

Lapping the flywheel involves buying some valve lapping compound (think extra gritty toothpaste for metal) which gently grinds both surfaces true to each other as you turn them. Spread the compound on the mating surfaces then turn until you feel it really mate good.

Setting pick up coil gap involves adjusting the little black pick up coil in relation to the flywheel magnets (check it with both magnets) .015-.017" with a feeler guage between the pickup coil and flywheel magnet.

Youtube  lapping flywheel there is a how to video on there, not a banshee but the same process is used.   To set pickup coil gap , completely assemble stator side of engine then you will need a filler gauge to set the gap between the pick up coil and the raised rectangular sections on the flywheel.  .018 gap should get you going
