chlbanshee Posted September 28, 2012 Report Posted September 28, 2012 the problem i am having with my banshee is that it seems like the left cylinder is misfiring. both cylinders hold compression and hold it (cold compression check was at 90psi), both wires are getting spark, i just replaced the plugs, i drained the tank and mixed a fresh tank because i thought it might have been a bad mix ratio. the left pipe has a bunch of unbured fuel on the end. after running it for a little while i took the plugs out and the right one smelled normal and the color was fine but the left one had a strong fuel smell and was black. i am out of ideas and could use any help. i am thinking carbs or electrical? special06shee Posted September 28, 2012 Report Posted September 28, 2012 your plug caps might be shot, or your plug wires might need some attention! id highly doubt it would be a carb issue since there is unburned fuel in the pipe! Quote
dunesovertrails Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 90psi sounds like your starting to get low... time for a rebuild soon! Quote
chlbanshee Posted September 29, 2012 Author Report Posted September 29, 2012 ok my carbs are in sync, i just got them tuned for high altitude about 5 months ago since i live in wyoming. ill try swapping the coil pack and wires out for a new one and see if that does anything. i am about to buy a +4 mil kit and rebuild it this winter while riding season is done. i just wanted to get it fixed soon to go riding before winter hits and the season is over.
