notsed
ive done everything i can think of to find out why one side isnt smoking half as much as the other, switched plug caps, new plugs, changed carbs left to right, put different carbs on, compression is 150 and 152, pulled the flywheel to make sure it didnt rattle or anything, leak down held 7psi for 1/2 hour. pulled the reeds they dont look bad besides the center support cut almost all the way through the reed, there was also about a 1/16" gap at the tip of all 4 pedels and the support seems to be worn in where the peddle was closing on it. Chariot reed cages BTW. and they arent even a year old. , maybe this is why it was running stronger on one side? both plugs look rich, maybe its the reeds and something else? what you guys think, heres a few pics http://api.photoshop.com/v1.0/accounts/314026fa3fbe454cb2b6f578e4db5d09/assets/3dd668ad04394387b1c8de810ac93a5b/renditions/256.jpg http://api.photoshop...ditions/256.jpg http://api.photoshop.com/v1.0/accounts/314026fa3fbe454cb2b6f578e4db5d09/assets/c7e911f952c740ceb8fcb62f89d7235a/renditions/256.jpg http://api.photoshop.com/v1.0/accounts/314026fa3fbe454cb2b6f578e4db5d09/assets/cbf64aec83164a5cb94e3de8d132029e/renditions/256.jpg

toytech
on one of our shees we had a simular issue, we found the one wire carroded were it goes in the coil. it even checked out ok for resistance , fixed it now it is fine. the reeds could also be your issue. notsed
ok ill check that too, just got a reply back from chariot and like the response i got, although ive never noticed dirt going past the filters... I have one other set that did what you are describing. Only one out of close to 400 sets sold. I think it is because of the air filter letting dirt/sand in a little at a time. It looks like it was sand blasted. In either case I will take care of you on it. Thanks Jerry
notsed
yea chariot has always been good to his customers! let us know how it turns out he said hed be sending a new set of cages but not reeds because he thinks there was dirt going through them either from the air filter or in my fuel. he also said that a lot of those chinese filters are crap and if i have a paper filter it should be oiled even though a lot of people say it shouldn't. Really?? sounds like he came up with whatever he could to explain the problem Idk. not sure if i want to spend the money on reeds and have the same problem again in 8 months. Jereme6655
No offense man......but your sounding like you want him to replace your reeds too......because of a bad air filter. True it may be his product that is causing your motor to be weak on one side........HOWEVER.....how can he be expected to purchase you new parts when it was caused by inferior parts? That would be like going into a tire shop and claiming their tire blew out and damaged your fender.......after you put 90 psi in each tire.......they're not gonna be responsible. Either way Jerry is a stand up guy that does a lot for us and is trying to show you how far he goes just to help a guy out when it comes to his products............balls in your court dude......it's now up to you to do the right thing. notsed
oh ya, ive checked everything mechanical. leak down dropped 1/2 psi after 10 min and held, both plugs look the same after it idles for 20 min like that, and it runs clean and hard, i just havnt had time to start checking electrical. the only reason i know something is up is by watching the smoke coming out, both pipes feel like the same temp at idle and after a lil rip. the inside of the cages are still nice and shiny, the only part that looks "sand blasted" is where the reeds close against the cage. Im 99.99% sure theres no dirt getting in, everything was spotless when i took it apart, filters are oiled, and i would never use chinese or paper filters on my motor. but i dunno what else it could be so what can i say, maybe that fuel fragrence shit i used a while back? either way at least hes willing to do something for me and i do appreciate it. Im not unhappy with what hes doing for me dont get me wrong is it really that likely theres dirt in the fuel im buying? cause i get it at the same place every time
