bracketracer Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 ok so the cooling seems like a big problem on these banshees. Is there any way to open up the water jackets to increase volume of water in the jugs and flow easier. I was going to order a new impeller but there out of stock from what I can see? Has anyone tried any of this my jugs are .040 over right nor. Quote
sheerider11 Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 There is a impeller in the f/s thread. I never had a over heating problem. How is your jetting?, air leaks? Impeller gear broke? Impeller broke? Quote
gotta_goatsfast Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 There are radiator upgrades and of course a billet impeller. Purple Ice, Becool, water wetter, ect help some also. But as sheerider said, if you are truely overheating the problem may not be your cooling system. Quote
bracketracer Posted July 15, 2012 Author Report Posted July 15, 2012 Its not over heating. I was wondering if anyone has tried making the water jacket bigger Quote

The water should keep moving on thru and take the heat with. So you don't need to store more hot water in the cylinder. Just move it. You can get impellers all over the place. Mull Engineering has a nice one. EVERY Banshee should have a billet impeller. Mull now has a metal drive gear for the impeller too! You combine a metal drive gear and a fresh billet impeller and you'll have a bullet proof water pump system. You can make 80+ HP and still keep it cool with a stock radiator with no problems. If you don't have a radiator full of mud....or a bike that's spending the day in first gear with the motor pinned to the moon...then cooling should be fine. If it's hot.....it's in the jetting. The PILOT jet is the issue more often than not. Quote
Nightmare Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 If it aint getting hot, leave it alone Quote
Coupelx Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 What lead you to think its a big problem? Quote
bracketracer Posted July 17, 2012 Author Report Posted July 17, 2012 Alot of peopke have told me put bigger impeller in a biger radiator and inline cooler cuz they get hot fast just looking for advice. I tell them all my motor is stock and its only .040 over everything else is stock Quote
