So i'm sure this has been discussed already, but here it goes again. What are you're guys opinion of the stock replacement 35 watt halogen trail tech's?? Are they better than just tusk bulbs?? Are they worth $121.00. Any info would be great on this topic. Thanks in advance for your input. ok go!!

If you're going to pay $121.00 for those trail techs, I would suggest doing a DC conversion and get some of my LED lights for $198.00/pr shipped. They will be more than 3 times as bright as those trail techs, last 100 times as long (50,000 hours), and only draw 20 watts for the pair. The stock stator can handle up to 6 of my lights after the DC conversion: You're limited to 2 trail tech halogen lights.

Check out this thread for all the info on them. The DC conversion can be done by the average person in under two hours with no special tools other than a flywheel puller, and a soldering iron (which most people have anyways).

Like MattSCSS mentioned, if you are willing to convert the electrical system to DC LED lights are a great addition. They are 3-4 times more efficient, last longer and produce a nice kelvin color. Trail Tech has some nice stainless steel post mounts that draw around 10 Watts. They are available in one of our banshee light kits with mounting brackets.

or, we have a multisurface mount kit for flat surface mounting.

Just a heads-up, we will have a new 75mm LED light coming out this summer that will rival the SCMR16 HID lights we have. It is an amazing light.

Thank you both for your replies.. Was hoping for more input on this. Matt I do like your lights, alot! I just dont think I want to run a battery... Is there anyway around the battery??

Okay, thanks for your help. Ill look into it. Does anyone have a start to finish walk through on installing everything?? I found the ground floating thread. But doesnt show anything else. Sorry for all the ?

You don't HAVE to run a battery, but it is highly recommended to avoid flickering at low RPMS. Even if you just get a tiny little one, there is MINIMAL extra wiring, and nothing else more to buy, other than the battery itself. The one below I think is small enough to fit inside your tool box thing under your seat, or it can be hidden pretty much anywhere on the bike. In my opinion, you should at least run this small battery in there to avoid that flicker.

I didn't even see the reply by trailtech until right now, but prepare for an ankle grab with those things... lol

lol yeah they are like $300!! So i'm not finding a walk through on the installation anywhere. Ill i can find is the wiring diagram, and how to float the ground, which seems pretty simple. Not going to lie, wiring is not my fave.. so any other info would be great. Sorry for all the questions.
