LCW Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 I recently picked up a banshee and it wasnt running. Turned out the rings were shot. I rebuilt the top end and got it half way running. It has stock carbs tors is gone pipes and pods .040 over. Anyhow i was wondering what needles you guys are running that is richer than the stocker. My needles are on the richest setting and I still have a mid range lean condition. Quote

sprinklerman Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 I have a set of Dynojet/Toomey needles that will richen up your mid-range if thats the way you plan on going. PM me if you'd like to try them. Quote
sleeper06 Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 pressure test it,you could be chasing your tail, what jets are you running, are you ported? Quote
LCW Posted April 27, 2012 Author Report Posted April 27, 2012 (edited) Top end is fresh with new rings after i broke the glaze on the cylinders. Gap on the rings were in spec also. I have run about a tank through it so far. Yes, it is on the stockers. Mains at 320, runs out hard in the top end. Pilots at 30, i think 2 or 2.5 turns on the screw. It runs good down low but when you hit the mid range it starts to come on and right before the power band it hesitates. As far as porting someone had cleaned them up a bit but nothing major. I can run a 330 or 340 main with the needle is the same place and it helps the hesitation but she falls on her face up top. Edited April 27, 2012 by LCW Quote
LCW Posted May 7, 2012 Author Report Posted May 7, 2012 Alright put in some Toomey needles and it got a little better. I'm at 2600 ft it has 320 mains 30 pilots 2.5 turns k&n pods boysen reeds old school fmf gold series fattys and silencers. Any other suggestions? It has a new cdi box and stator. I have tried different coil and wires. Compression is around 120. Have not done a leak-down. Quote
erickson483 Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 You need to do a leakdown before anything else. Quote
