Running stock now, looking to gain top end without killing the bottom end.

How about a 13/33? -1 in front -8 in back

Should balance out right, 1:2?

A you wont find a hub that will allow a 33 on the rear even a honda hub

B 4 teeth in the rear is 1 in the front so -8 in the rear is going up in the front +2 so basically all you are doing is leaving the rear alone and adding a tooth in the front.

why go smarter in the front?

 

if you want more top end, go 15/40

tried that and was happy with it, but with the mods i have it just seemed like there was alot more potential pull.

i know it will have the power i want with a 13, but like speeeed

gear ratio is gear ratio wheather you achieve the ratio you want with a small front/small rear or large front/larger rear combination doesn't matter for the performance. The chain will appreciate you running a larger front sprocket to achieve your desired gear ratio.

What kind of motor are you running? That is a pretty low Ratio. (Stock- 2.928 15/40 -2.857 13/33- 2.538)

 

 

A 16/41- 2.562 or a 16/40- 2.500 would get you in the same range though.
