Uf21 Posted April 22, 2012 Report Posted April 22, 2012 (edited) A mate of mine fell of his banshee and the shee rolled into its side. After he rolled it, it would run ok for a bit but a lot of times when in 6th gear and sometimes in other gears while ridig it would just turn off and sometimes while revving it at idle it would make a popping noise, it also took much more kicks to get it started. He changed his spark plugs but still doing the same thing. What could be the problem? Edited April 22, 2012 by Uf21 Quote
So Cal Suspension Posted April 22, 2012 Report Posted April 22, 2012 A mate of mine fell of his banshee and the shee rolled into its side. He changed his spark plugs but still doing the same thing. What could be the problem? My best guess would be rolling the bike on the side allowed some dirt or grit to get into one of the jets on one of the carbs. It could have been just sitting in the bottom of the bowl, but when it rolled it somehow worked itself into a jetting circuit. Just my four cents. Quote
Uf21 Posted April 23, 2012 Author Report Posted April 23, 2012 Could there be a chance that the new spark plugs were fouled? Quote
So Cal Suspension Posted April 23, 2012 Report Posted April 23, 2012 Could there be a chance that the new spark plugs were fouled? My banshee ran the same spark plugs it came new with in 2005. New spark plugs, by the sheer fact that they are new, would eliminate the possibility of them being fouled. Quote

Do I have to re-adjust or mess around with the carb slides/tors when removing and putting the carb back on? Quote
Buckwheat Posted April 23, 2012 Report Posted April 23, 2012 I would disconnect the tors and see if anything changes. Before I eliminated the tors on mine, it was hard to crank when cold and when I would shut it off after it got hot, it would not fire until it cooled down. Why I don't know, but now it starts and runs like a champ. Now you have six cents. Quote
Uf21 Posted April 24, 2012 Author Report Posted April 24, 2012 Where's is the tors cable located? I can just disconnect cable to check if it is the tors right? Quote
Jereme6655 Posted April 24, 2012 Report Posted April 24, 2012 the TORS brain is a little black box located under the fuel tank on the left side of the bike. if you disconnect the brain it will disable the system to act as if there is no throttle safeties. Quote
Uf21 Posted April 29, 2012 Author Report Posted April 29, 2012 My mate just tried disconnecting the tors. He said before he disconnected tors it would turn off at idle but when he disconnected tors it was even quicker to turn off while idling and still backfires and bogs out. Quote
