TheBigShabowski Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 I put a Tors delete kit on the bike. Rebuilt the Carbs (not my first set) and jetted it with 300 mains @600ft above. Has k&n, and pro circuits. The Carbs are synched and flow matched. It will start fine idle for a few min, than the idle drops and it dies than backfires. Choke tube is on and bowls are on the right carb. Everything else appears stock. Quote
ticktock Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 In my experience backfiring has been a problem with a small pilot jet. 25's are ok for stock motors or bored motors with pipes. If you have are ported might want to go to 27.5. Also play with the air screw. You should be between .5 and 1.5 turns on a properly jetted bike. If you have had some big backfires check the reeds. They can break because of backfiring. Adam Quote
