2smoke-youchoke Posted March 4, 2012 Report Posted March 4, 2012 I have an 89 banshee, that is my first. I am not quite sure how they are supposed to run, but it just seems sad to me? not at all what I was expecting compared to my past 4chokes. My first big question is, can I pull the head off without any concerns to see what my pistons look like along with domes? Secondly, I know that its not supposed to have low end, but it doesnt feel like I have any real snap into the powerband or even a whole lot of power anywhere? I ran a comp. test and was 130 on one and roughly 127 on the other. any help guys/gals? thanks!! Quote
Zwiser Posted March 4, 2012 Report Posted March 4, 2012 whats all done to it? if you dont know post up some pics... if you do know still post up some pics! no you wont hurt anything by taking the head off, youll just have to get a new gasket unless it has a cool head with o rings Quote
vulvafan537240 Posted March 4, 2012 Report Posted March 4, 2012 x2 on the mod list. advancing the timing and bumping up the compression (smaller domes) will give you some low end. dont go too crazy or youll need higher octane fuel though. Quote
dcalsv02 Posted March 4, 2012 Report Posted March 4, 2012 I wouldnt bump the compression up too much if you are running a stock unwelded crank. Quote
