bansheeryder_69 Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 Long story short I graduated from highschool, bought dream banshee '87 w/4mil. sold to little bro who partially parted it out. Now I am rebuilding it. I need help and input that I know only the Hq'ers can give. Here's a rundown 4 Mil crank (may need rebuilt, ran when it came out but has been sitting for nearly 3 years, what do you think?) stock tranny (what do i need to do exactly to the tranny to make it reliable and fast) 38mm carbs (originally ran 34mm, I got these off another bike Is it too much fuel for a 4mil? should i sell and get another set of 34's?) When I put the crank in is there a spacer that I need to install to compensate for the longer rod length (I'm pretty sure there is) what should i get and where should i get it from. Pipes should I run SB or BB for this set-up if i remember he cylinders are punched all the way out (68mm?) Cool Head what size domes should I be running I am okay running 1 gal race gas 4 gal prem The purpose of this bike is sand only. I will be doing a lot of hillshooting and want something fast. Before this was tore down it ran for nearly 4 years without a single problem so I would like to have that same reliabaility. I am also on a budget so trying to do this right, but inexpensive as possible. I have searched a lot and just need some finalization on this stuff, and input. thanks in advance guys. color scheme, should i do all yellow and call it the banana like the original or should I do it green and black and call it "smoking bowls" Quote
CFH87 Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 DO NOT USE A SPACER PLATE! Have domes to cut for the 4mil crank, and the crank trued and welded with new bearings... Get 33pwks and SB shearers just my opinion on the pipes. But that set up would rip if set up how I said. Quote
