Silencer Cutting

Seen the topic in here about cutting silencers what are the advantages and disadvantages of doing this, also they are the fmf powercore 2's

No advantages other than looks and making your bike louder.

The general rule is smaller diameter or longer length gives you more torque or low end power and bigger diameter or shorter length gives you more high end power. Shorter silencers will make your bike louder and we don't need more people bitching about loud ATVs and closing riding areas.

Where I live its all quads no old people to bitch either we can run without silencers if we wanted here but I am happy with my bike sound right now just wanna get more out of my machine

This may be the case in the expansion chambers but the silencers on a 2 stroke are nothing more than a silencer. You will not see a difference in power at all.

I remember 2 stroke supercross guys doin it on the 250's back in the day.
