chayote86 Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 I was looking through Herrjugsracing.com and I noticed they had the slingshot lockout. So my question is has anyone ran it before? How does it compare to the direct drive type lockout? It says i wont need an aftermarket case for this. http://www.herrjugsracing.com/Transmission_clutch_Shifter.html Quote
camatv Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 slingshots are cool. they are a lil more work to change the weight BUT they are very very adjustable. even with a sling i would still do a cover. being able to get to the clutch easy is very nice. Quote
robert.b.west Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 I have a sling shot style lock up that I use at the dunes and I love it. It works great. I don't drag race with it so I don't ever adjust it anymore. I did adjust it two times after I got it but they get you pretty close in the instructions. Quote
dave5.0 Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 I've got one. Works pretty slick. I haven't ran a DD. But this one went in under my stock cover with the little nubs for the outer circular cover ground down. I haven't adjusted it. Rides pretty well like stock except it doesn't slip. I forget its there. I'm kinda lazy so I like that. Quote
RadarRacing Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 They work awesome. I run 1 bearing in every other groove and both in the others. Its a great lockup and have been known to hold 180 hp motors that were notorious for slipping clutches. You can get away with running a little softer spring so you dont have a stupid heavy lever pull. I run 3 stock and 3 hd springs in mine. Quote
