Hey guys im new to banshee's and got a few questions.

just bought a used 2005 that was basicly used for drag racing at local drag strips. from all the info they have on it its all vitos looks like

4mil stroker crank rods piston kit, a monoblock cyl head, 13deg domes 68mm pistons 28mm carbs and had drag pipes and longer swingarm.

now when i bought it they have the stock cyl and head, bored to .020 and the same 4mil crank rod, they also gave me the original unhurt

stock crank rods and pistons.

not shure if this is the longrod setup

questions:

what cc is the engine with stock cyl at .020 and 4mil stroker.

do the mono block cyl head combo seal good with just a oring?

if it is a long rod does the base gasket get thicker or is the piston pin just moved up?

im gona ride mostly trails and lots of hills. but im also 290 lbs not fat just workout a lot.

so far i bought fmf fatty and powercore silencers for it since its on stock pipe and syl now,

should i stick with the stock carbs? or run the 28mm

would you trail ride the monoblock setup? with the 68mm pistons

or stay with the stock cyl and 65.5mm .020 pistons? i thinkg thats right for .020 overbore.

i called and they said if the cyl is unported wich it looks to be that it should work fine for trails and such.

the oring seal really freeks me out but maybe cause im used to a 1000 hp v8 not a banshee!!!

if the stock cylinders arent ported for a 4 mill, its not going to run well. They will either need to be ported or they make spacer plates that mount under the cylinders to correct your port timings. A longrod crank uses different pistons with the wrist pin move up higher. Theres several different monoblock cylinders, most common is called a cub cylinder. Theres a version of cub thats called a serval cub which you might look into for trail use. Stock heads use a gasket, aftermarket ones use o-rings.

ItI all depends on whethyou can handle the hit from the banshee motor...live seen a few four stroke riders nearly eat it because they weren't used to the hit that a banshee can bring when it gets up on the pipe. I'd call the previous owner and ask what kinda of cylinder setup the mono block is and what bore it was on. If your not gonna really ride anything but trails you may want to look into selling it to one of us.....maybe me haha. the 28mm carbs will be okay for the trails also.

It does look like the bottom gasket is a spacer its prety thick so id guess they are unported w spacer. At 290lb I'm shure I can handle more power than average power but I deff don't need 150hp. Got a 8 sec s10. If I wana go fast.

What. Kind of power would a unported vito monoblock 68mm piston 4mil stroker and 28mm make? Ballpark I know they are close to 40 to 45 stock. Do any of u use a cdi add on box? Saw a box on ebay said more rpm I thought these rev prety good! I've always wanted a banshee and sold my 86 lt250r for it.

Ok ccd the domes are 19cc. Could this work if I can find a way to convert the carbs to e85? So the motor looks like this 4mil. Vitos crank kit 115 long rod mono block cyl head 68mm piston stock cnc port work on the cyl. And 19cc domes. Fmf fatty pipes w powercore silencers. I'm trail riding but want some power too. Should I send the monoblock out for port work. Vitos said try trz I think it is for the alky carb conversion. Only I'm gona try to run pump e85 same as the turbo s10 and nitrous blazer. What kind of power should I see? I may have the 28mm upgrade carbs for sale and the drag pipes since I'm not gona need them.

I think you may have a difficult time tuning the carbs for e85. from what i have read, its not as easy to tune a 2 stroke on 85 as it is a 4 stroke. Plus if you are trail riding you will probably be riding longer distances and you will consume way more e85 way faster then running race or pump gas.

You will burn through alky as fast as e 85. Why do you want to run alky for the trails? I understand the powergains, but i bet that mono block setup you have would be plenty of power for the trails on pump gas or race gas. You should try that first before switching to alky. Its pretty easy to switch to alky.

I just love e85 its a killer fuel for under 3dollars a gallon. I can get 100 unledded and 110 c12 c14 or c16 locally in columbus. But its mostly what e85 can do that gas can't that makes me wana run it. My s10 is at about 28percent more fuel than gas. 2 strokes don't act the same? I know meth is double your gas tune normaly. But I know I can run e85 leaned to a 8.4:1 afr and still get no knock no carbon and just a damn clean motor.

Im not saying it cant be done. Yes you will use about 30% more also, but the 2 stroke is much more tricky to tune. There is a thread in the jetting forum i belive that a guy is messing with e85 on his banshee. You have to understand that the banshee's gas tank is small to begin with and running regular gas you cant ride too long anyways. when you switch to e85 you will be consuming that small tank even faster. usually people that trail ride like to ride for a while without having to go back to camp or carry an extra gas can to refuel. Search for that e85 thread and see what you can find.
