I wanted to know what fuel/alcohol on standard bore what octaine to use at sea level and 6000ft.

15cc ?

16cc ?

17cc ?

18cc ?

19cc ?

20cc ?

21cc ?

22cc ?

I ask cause I live 6000ft. Runs great with 310 mains but when I went to Glamis on Thanksgiving it kept fouling plugs and over-heating. ( Glamis I started at 340 mains then, 370 mains, and last 400 mains) Never did get it to run right. My build... Toomey T5's, k&n pods, vforce 3's, ported juggs, stock carbs, cool-head (not sure of dome size) 40:1 Caster 927. Also here at my elevation (6000ft) I run VP110 50/50. I do realize I need to take off the cool head to see what domes I have. I just want to know in advance. Thanks!

The higher the elevation, the smaller dome size you need to keep the compression up. Running the same dome at 6,000 feet elevation, and then at sea level, will mean an increase in compression, as the elevation drops. I don't know if there is a certain dome, that you can safely run at both elevations, and keep it on pump gas, in both. Check with dlnoss, on here.

At sea level (340ft for me) 19cc domes put you into 50/50 territory on a "mild", dune ported, +4 timing, stock stroke motor. I run 20cc's, at 160 psi and have NEVER had a problem (on Premium). Two of my friends (one I copied the motor mods from) run 19cc's, both have had issues with run-ability. That being said... If I were at 6000' with my motor, I wouldn't hesitate to go 19's maybe 18's if the compression checked out (on Premium).
