Cletis1234 Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 I bought a 2000 Banshee 2 weeks ago when i went to look at it the right pipe kept backfiring nothing extreme tho week later was going down the road and it just died on me i held the clutch in and rolled to a stop checked for fluid leaks etc then kicked it fired up on first kick now its running sluggish like the right side is putting out anything i replaced the plugs bout 20 min prior to this happening and was running great now when i go to get on it the bike just cuts out acts like it wants to die but for some reason when i was driving back to the shop it would grab a second wind and take off for bout 5 sec then fall flat on its face but never died im really hoping this is a carb issure cause i just payed 2500 bucks and really not excited about putting 500 dollar rebuild in it lol any ideas or suggestions would be a great help thanks all !!! By far the best thing you can do is take a compression gauge with you when you check out a Bike. If you haven't torn anything apart yet then do a compression test and build yourself a leak down tester....... Do both test and then report back. And if you can turn a screwdriver and a wrench then you can do the rebuild yourself.......and if you go through a builder it will only be about 300 to do the rebuild. Quote

badshee1998 Posted February 3, 2012 Report Posted February 3, 2012 Hey check ur plug gaps and the screw caps on the spark plugs, i put new ones in one time and.it did that and come to find out i must have dropped one of the plugs and crushed the gap and it ran real funky Quote
