Anywhere i can find some nice lights? Really? I'm pretty sure they won't last very long at all, from abuse and voltage spikes. Quote
werner Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 got my LEDs hooked to a 9v batt switch i got from radio shack. that way i can glow at camp without the bike running Quote
So Cal Suspension Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 I'm assuming you're talking about LED underbody lights, since any other option (Neon) would be beyond ridiculous. LED's are Diodes, hence the name, Light Emitting Diode. Diodes flow electricity in ONE direction only. (Direct Current) Banshee's stock light power is AC current. (Alternating Current) Low power LED's will WORK on AC current but not for very long, as the current is "pulsing" through the diode typically @ 60hz. LED tail lights, for example, are low power LED's; generally less than .5w each. To get LEDs to last, do a DC conversion. Simply drawing from your tail light I guess would work for a little while, but kinda jerry rigged, if you ask me... I wouldn't draw any more than an addition 5w of power on the stock stator if you're still running 35w headlight bulbs. Personally, I think underbody lights belong on honda civics with fart can exhaust. Quote

So Cal Suspension Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 Approximate weight and price of battery? About 40 grams... you can buy them at 7-11... they're about 3 bucks each. Kinda look like these. Quote

Man now i feel fuckin stupid. Idk why i over thought the battery size. I was thinking about bigger ones ive seen. But anyways, a lot of people dont like my whole LED idea, but the banshees not gonna be a beater quad. I have a ton of partys out in my fields and shit. I want to build it and polish it. I would really like to have a set of led under lights. Im trying to figure out the best option and if its actually going to work amd a price. Maby im just over thinking the whole subject, but i would really like to do it. Quote
guns4children Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 If the other Guy runs his off of a 9v I'm sure u could rig up a motorcycle battery to fit somewhere. You would just need to recharge it. Quote

thomas h. Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 If you get a led whip(12v) and color match the under LEDs. Since its a part your going to you might have a six PAC cooler. setup the battery on the cooler or setup a removable battery. Quote
So Cal Suspension Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 Or, what I'd do, is use one of these, and get a charger for it from the hobby shop... http://www.ebay.com/itm/9-6V-NiCD-2500mAh-Battery-Pack-RC-Tank-Car-Airsoft-/270290744106?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3eee95732a 2500MAH would let you run those lights for like 10-12 hours. So Cal Suspension Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 No. You'd need a AA charger... You will not be able to charge ANY type of battery off of your current electrical system. Your bike puts out AC current. ALL batteries are DC current. Quote
