powdercoating is a TON of work.. frames take a lot of prep and proper prep on the rest is critical..

200-300 for a frame depending on the number of coats and where the prep is when you drop it off is about average.

So I got a quote for pc on my frame j arms and swing arm. Quote was $200 for matte black and white. Does this sound like a fair price

After you powder coat the stock A arms or J arms, they're junk. If your powdercoater doesn't know that, well, he hasn't been doing it very long.

Could you please explain this to me? Why are they junk after you powdercoat them?

The ball joints have plastic in them. The powder coat oven melts the plastic. Without the plastic, the ball joint will be sloppy.

makes you wonder how they welded them in huh?

The socket part is welded in and then the ball and plastic is dropped in, followed by a metal disk. Then part of the socket is crimped over the edge of the disk to hold it all together. You can't uncrimp it.
